Short biography

She has been working at the Institute of Education Research since 2006. With nearly 20 years of research experience, she successfully introduces new researchers to research work and also acts as a mentor to new scientific staff at UL IER.

  • She is the national research leader for IEA TIMSS 2019 and TIMSS 2023 in Latvia.
  • She actively participates in projects implemented by LU IPI, such as OECD PISA, IEA TIMSS, and ICILS.
  • The leading researcher's area of expertise includes large-scale international education quality assessment studies, tools, data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation.
  • She has worked in international comparative education studies as a data processing manager, reviewer, interpreter, layout designer, testing administrator, open-ended response evaluator, and school coordinator. During the instrument preparation phase, she develops national adaptations of the instruments. She contributes to the preparation of the IEA encyclopedia. She participates in the development of national research reports.
  • She is the author and co-author of international publications and the co-author of monographs and reports.
    Participates in international and local scientific conferences.
  • Every year, she improves her professional research and teaching skills in courses, seminars, and practical training in Latvia and abroad.
  • The leading researcher has also applied her skills, knowledge, and expertise in general education, working as a teacher for more than 10 years.
