ĒDIENA REPREZENTĀCIJAS LITERATŪRĀ

Gastropoetics investigates the meanings and functions of the representation of food and drink, eating and drinking, cooking, meals, taste, pleasure and hospitality and how the changing representation of food in literature and culture reveal transformations in society. In literature and cookbooks, food is described not only as satisfying basic human needs, it is also a medium of diverse communication and information. The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Latvia project National identity: gastropoetic aspect. Historical, international and interdisciplinary context (No. lzp-2019/1-0294) focused on the study Latvian literature and cookbooks. The collection combines nine articles by research participants about the representation of food in Latvian literature, cookbooks, and life stories.
