Abstract

The paper describes an extension to the practical natural language processing and information extraction system implemented for a national news agency in Latvia. The constructicon extension introduces pattern based rules capturing the structure of frame annotations rather than identifying the frame constituents in an isolated manner. Reported are also results for English where this approach improves the accuracy of the FrameNet automatic parsing compared to the current state-of-the-art.
