Abstract

Paper presents application experience of optical measurement complex Pentalum SpiDAR used for wind speed measurements at heights up to 200 m. Wind shear investigation results are compared for two sites on Baltic Sea shore. Wind shear investigation details and frequency distribution curves for average wind speed based on all measured data and measurement results with quality thresholds Q > 20 % and Q > 90% are analyzed in the paper. Research addresses wind speed measurement quality influence on calculation of estimated annual electricity production using wind turbine type E-10, 3000 kW as an example.
