Abstract
The European Commission's ambition to enhance technological sovereignty, competitiveness, innovation, social cohesion, and ecological transition is fundamentally driven by an investment in human capital a core tenet of the Union of Skills strategy. Europe's competitive strength lies in its people, and in an era of rapid technological change and global talent competition, developing futureoriented, inclusive, and adaptable skills is paramount. The EuroSpaceHub project funded by EIT Manufacturing HEI Initiative embodies this integrated vision by aligning its objectives with the Union of Skills framework. By anticipating future skills needs in the aerospace and aviation sectors and co-developing an innovative, modular New Space Economy training program that incorporates advanced technologies and entrepreneurship, the project aims to bridge current competency gaps and promote entrepreneurship and start-up development at the same time. This paper presents EuroSpaceHub's key activities and achievements, showcasing its role as a transformative digital innovation platform that integrates education, technology transfer, and business development. Through strategic European partnerships, EuroSpaceHub enables knowledge exchange, facilitates funding opportunities, and supports capacity-building initiatives that empower the next generation of space professionals and entrepreneurs. A core focus of the project is the establishment of aerospace innovation ecosystems that act as incubators for new ideas, providing mentorship, training, and networking opportunities for researchers, businesses and investors. By leveraging digital space innovation platform, AI-driven research methodologies, and collaborative ecosystem network, EuroSpaceHub Academy, EuroSpaceHub network fosters interdisciplinary engagement and promotes a more inclusive and accessible aerospace and aviation sectors aligning training and education with industry needs, fostering strong cooperation between companies, higher education institutions, and investors to develop a workforce and entrepreneurs equipped for the future. Furthermore, it will analyse the role of open innovation platforms in accelerating technology transfer from research institutions to commercial applications, enhancing Europe's competitiveness in the global space economy. Diversity and inclusion are central to EuroSpaceHub, as the sector seeks to attract a broader talent pool, entrepreneurial discovery process, and enhance gender balance. By creating an accessible and future-oriented skills framework, the project supports Europe's strategic autonomy, economic resilience, and technological leadership in aerospace and aviation. In conclusion, EuroSpaceHub represents a pioneering effort to integrate diverse stakeholders within the space ecosystem, ensuring that scientific progress and technological innovation translate into societal benefits. This paper contributes to the ongoing discourse on space and society by providing insights into how strategic cooperation can drive sustainable growth and inclusive participation in the space sector.
