Abstract

Two CdTe crystal growth experiments were successfully performed during the unmanned PHOTON 7-mission in October 1991. CdTe crystals were grown by the Travelling Heater Method under 1 g and μg-conditions with and without a rotating magnetic field. All experiments were accompanied by theoretical modeling of temperature profiles, phase boundaries and flow patterns in the solution zone.
