Abstract

The article gives the results of investigations of a conduction-type pump with axial supply of the feed current. The possibility of obtaining an axial pressure head due to the transverse component of the current arising in a flow-through channel of spectral shape is demonstrated. The possibilities, in principle, of using such devices in practice are described. Expressions are found in the electrodynamic approximation for the pressure developed by the pump, as well as the optimal parameters of the geometry of the flow-through channel. The results of experiments and of a numerical calculation with a zero mass flow rate are given.
