Abstract

Control of the flowrate of liquid metals is reguired in a number of technological processes such as the cooling of nuclear reactors, transmutation systems and the dosing and casting of liquid metals. The use of current commercial flowmeters is limited by the contact problems which often occur in liquid metals at high temperatures. This paper presents the design and extensive test results of two new contactless flowmeters for liquid metals. A commercial version of one flowmeter is expected shortly.
