Abstract

The dynamic behavior of a flexible magnetic particle chain in a rotating magnetic field was investigated. A numerical model of an elastic magnetic rod was applied for the study. The existence of a critical frequency beyond which the dynamics of the rod was periodic with subsequent stages of bending and straightening, was observed for the simulation results. At the critical frequency, which is proportional to the square of the field strength, asynchronous regime of the rod motion was found to arise.
