Dynamics of bubbles in magnetic pseudofluidized beds

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The action is examined of a magnetic field on a pseudofluidized bed in nonlinear formulation, with cavities devoid of solid particles within the bed. The dynamics of such bubbles are associated with the action of volumetric and surface ponderomotive forces on the dispersion phase and the boundary of separation between the two-phase system and the fluidized medium. The case is examined in which the pseudofluidization is accomplished by a flow of gas. The derived relationships point to the significant stabilization of the pseudofluidized bed by the magnetic field, due to the suppression of the process of bubble generation.
