Abstract
The studies of modulators for infrared made of transparent PLZT ceramics are reported. Two types of light modulators are discussed: 1) using the transversal electrooptic effect and 2) using the longitudinal electrooptic (EO) effect and electrostriction. The latter has been made as an electric field controllable Fabry-Perot interferometer. The characteristics of the modulators are provided.
