Abstract

The invention relates to a novel strain of acetic acid bacterial species Gluconobacter nephelii , deposited in the Microbial Strain Collection of Latvia under the number P 1464 producing extracellular fructan-type polysaccharides. The invention also relates to products containing Gluconobacter nephelii strain P 1464 and extracellular fructan-type polysaccharides produced by it, as well as to the use of the strain P 1464 for obtaining the respective products.
