General diffusion model of a magnetized suspension and dissipative vortex structures in rotating magnetic fields

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The behavior of magnetic fluids in a rotating field forms the subject of research in a rather large number of studies. Here we have noted an entire range of interesting phenomena such as the onset of macroscopic motion of a medium in the presence of internal rotation, the appearance of states with negative differential viscosity etc. In the present study the conditions for the appearance of nonuniform concentration structures in a rotating field have been derived as a result of the description of magnetic interparticle interactions within the scope of an approximation of the average active field.
