Abstract

The high frequency (HF) electrodeless lamps (EDL) with different fillings such as cadmium and mercury, for their use in atomic absorption spectrometry, was investigated. The performance of the HF EDL depends on the factors such as the material of the source vessel, the amount of the working element and the type and amount of buffer gas. The design examples of HF EDL includes compact HF generator for 100 MHz, source body, cooler and HF lamp. The decreased dimensions of the generators and the preparation procedure allowed the creation of compact light source with high intensity spectral line output.
