Information Visualization and Artworks: from GPS to Point Cloud

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference paperResearchpeer-review

    Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the changes in the forms of information visualization driven media art projects. Questions about this art range from topics such as the unconventional nature of the elements constituting the artwork to its appropriate place in the artistic landscape from the perspective of the mainstream of contemporary art. The paper examines several art projects developed in Latvia, where the concept of neomateriality can contribute to a better understanding of these artworks.
