Abstract

Increasing attention has recently been devoted to the microdrops of the condensed phase in magnetic colloids, exhibiting magnetic-permeability values unusually high for liquid media. In the present study the authors present the results from an experimental study into the behavior of another type of magnetic-colloid microdrop, where it is formed on dilution with a solution of a SAA in the carrier medium. Examination of microdrops of this type is of interest also from the standpoint of establishing the mechanism by which they are formed, relative to which the hypothesis has been put forth to the effect that the formation of such microdrops may be governed by the osmotic forces of a solution of free SAA molecules.
