Abstract
When a magnetic field interacts with a magnetized liquid, a number of specific hydrodynamic instabilities occur. The possibility of intensifying mass transfer of magnetic and nonmagnetic components due to the development of hydrodynamic instabilities that are specific for the case of magnetized media is interesting in a number of cases. In this paper, authors examine theoretically a model example of such a situation - hydrodynamic instability of a horizontal diffusion front of ferroparticles in a verticle magnetic field - and they indicate some qualitative characteristics of the phenomenon. The mathematical model of the phenomena and a number of quantitative relations are presented. A qualitative experimental illustration of the phenomenon in the case of a diffusion front of ferroparticles in a flat gap is given.
