Abstract

The invention relates to sorbents for carbon dioxide sorption, in particular from fuel combustion products. The proposed sorbent contains activated carbon, the surface of which is modified with at least one metal-organic structure, one molecule of which ensures the sorption of at least one CO2 molecule. According to one embodiment of the invention, the mass of the metal-organic structure in the proposed sorbent is up to 10% of the mass of the sorbent. A method for obtaining a sorbent is also proposed, which comprises the following steps: (i) providing an activated carbon dispersion and a solution of salts containing ions of metals with at least the fourth coordination degree in an aqueous medium; (ii) dissolving a ligand that ensures the formation of the metal-organic structure in a water-miscible solvent; (iii) adding the resulting ligand solution to the activated carbon dispersion and metal salt solution; (iv) treating the resulting activated carbon and precursors of the metal-organic structures at a temperature of from 60 to 120 °C for 4 to 12 hours. According to another embodiment of the invention, after step (iv), the method comprises step (v) - filtering, rinsing and drying the resulting heat-treated product at a temperature not higher than 105 °C.
