Abstract
Form and size of equilibrium nuclei of the concentrated phase of a magnetic colloid have been found and due to this diffusion controlled kinetics of the drift of length distribution of the colloid microdrops which have arisen at this phase investigated. The strongly elongated needletype form of the microdrops in a field leads to a difference in exponents in the power dependences on time from the calculated ones determined for conventional systems according to the Lifshitz and Slyozov theory. It has also been found that the statistical mean of microdrops reduces with time at the power of 7/6 and their length increases with time at the power 1/2. Estimates of probable experimental observations of these phenomena have been presented.
