Abstract

A study was conducted on two models of optical pressure sensor. The models were designed based on the side-emitting optical fiber as the sensitive element. The results show that the side-scattering optical fiber sensors showed 5 to 6 times higher pressure sensitivity compared to the conventional PCS fibers.
