Abstract
A Feshbach resonance associated with the [Formula Presented] state of He[Formula Presented] has been observed in the He[Formula Presented] + [Formula Presented] partial photodetachment cross section. The residual He[Formula Presented] atoms were resonantly ionized and the resulting He[Formula Presented] ions were detected in the presence of a small background. A collinear laser-ion beam apparatus was used to attain both high resolution and sensitivity. We measured a resonance energy [Formula Presented] eV and a width [Formula Presented] meV, in agreement with a recent calculation.
