Abstract
THE OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF MNO//2 ANODICALLY DEPOSITED ON A PT SUBSTRATE FROM 0. 1 M MNSO//4** + 0. 034 N H//2SO//4 SOLUTION WERE STUDIED ELLIPSOMETRICALLY AS FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPOSITION POTENTIAL ( ″PHI″ ), LENGTH OF THE POTENTIOSTATIC PULSES ″DELTA″ ″TAU″ ), AND THICKNESS (D//F). THE OPTICAL CONSTANTS OF MNO//2 WERE DETERMINED DIRECTLY DURING ELECTROSYNTHESIS. THE EXTINCTION COEFFICIENT (K//F) WAS SHOWN TO DEPEND ON ″PHI″ AND ″DELTA″ ″TAU″ , THE DEPOSITS WERE FOUND TO BE POROUS, AND AN INFLUENCE OF POROSITY AND STOICHIOMETRY OF THE DIOXIDE AND OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS WAS NOTICED IN THE OPTICAL CONSTANTS MEASURED ELLIPSOMETRICALLY.
