Abstract

It has long been recognized that without adequate recovery an athlete will not achieve his/her full performance potential. Therefore, optimizing recovery is an essential component of the overall training plan. Recovery strategies such as compression therapy, nutrition and hydration, hydrotherapy and water immersion, massage and myofascial release, and athlete self-monitoring have been recommended. The physical activity and physiological requirements of taekwondo competition require athletes to be competent in several aspects of fitness, including aerobic and anaerobic power, muscular strength, muscular power, flexibility, speed and agility. It is therefore important that coaches and sports scientists collect objective information about their athletes. The subject will be taekwondo athletes of the Baltic countries aged between 12-17 years old. The purposes of the research are to develop appropriate recovery strategies in taekwondo athletes, determine taekwondo athletes’ current stress/fatigue states and implement strategies to maintain balance between stress, fatigue and recovery. To the knowledge of researchers, there is no evidence about recreation activity for taekwondo athletes’ physical recovery, so, the current research is been done to evaluate the result. Methods are based on scientific literature review, questionnaire, and interview, then using statistical analysis. The result and conclusion of the study will be according to the analysis.
