Abstract
The resonance structure in the Li(3s) partial photodetachment cross section below the Li(6p) was investigated using a collinear laser-ion beam apparatus. A complex rotation calculation showed that the resonance was due to the strongly correlated, doubly excited states of the quasi-two-electron ion Li-. At least one resonance with '-' type character and several members of a strong '+' type series were observed.
