Abstract

A new beamline will be installed at the last empty straight section at PETRA III. It is dedicated to investigate materials quasi-simultaneously under operando conditions with different complementary methods, which are based on synchrotron radiation like X-ray absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, small angle X-ray scattering and X-ray emission spectroscopy, but also rather lab-based methods like Raman-, Infra-Red, and UV/vis-spectroscopy in addition to macroscopic methods like mass-spectroscopy. In light of the future upgrade of the PETRA III storage ring to a new machine, an upgrade to a two-color beamline with two independent undulators and two independent optical configurations will allow performing X-ray diffraction and X-ray absorption spectroscopy measurements in a true, simultaneous mode.
