Abstract

The participation of F centres in the TL process has been investigated in nominally pure LiF single crystals. It has been shown that glow peaks can be regenerated by exposure of crystals annealed up to 250°C with mercury lamp light. Thermal activation of F centre electrons does not occur when the crystal is heated to 350°C. F centres do not participate in the creation of TL emission but, rather, are competitors to the thermoluminescence process.
