Abstract

The article presents the results of studying magnetic field distribution in the inductor of alternators with an axial arrangement of open magnetic cores and external closure of magnetic fluxes. A comparison is made of the efficiency of using magnetic fluxes from permanent magnets on the example of modifications of models of inductors with open magnetic cores, ring and linear magnetic flux variators developed by the authors. The analysis of the density distribution of magnetic fluxes in open magnetic cores was carried out by 3D modelling of the magnetic field using EMWorks software. The modelling results are presented in the form of tables and diagrams characterizing the change in the magnitude of magnetic fluxes and an electromotive force for a number of models with different geometry of the magnetic circuit. Based on the study of the properties of the base model, the influence of the configuration of the magnetic circuit of the inductor on the efficiency of the alternator is shown. The curves on the graphs are presented in relative units that allows one to estimate the potentials and limits of optimization of the size of air gaps, dimensions and step of the magnetic flux toggle switches. This approach allows to adapt the proposed alternator to different load requirements, optimized for power banks and bicycle electronics. It has also been shown that for such generators, open magnetic cores can be manufactured using a waste-free strip production technology.
