Thermoluminescence of reactor-irradiated aluminium oxide

Abstract

It has been shown that a new TL peak at 285°C appears after irradiation of a sapphire crystal by neutrons. The intensity of this peak is linear to neutron fluences up to 1017 cm-2. It is suggested that this TL peak is due to oxygen interstitials.
