Abstract
The article is dedicated to historical and archaeological evidence about the formation and development of the Zasa Manor’s (present-day Jēkabpils region) main residential house. Archaeological excavations at this site began in 2023, providing a significant contribution to the reconstruction of the building’s layout and outlook. The uncovered building structures and found artefacts indicate at least three construction periods of the manor house, starting from the mid-17th century. At the same time, strong evidence of the settlement in Zasa in the century before has not been obtained, although written historical sources attribute the lease of the site to 1559.
