Kopsavilkums
Glioblastoma is the most common and aggressive primary malignant brain tumor in adults with a median survival of 12–15 months despite standard treatment consisting of surgery followed by radiotherapy and temozolomide. Outcomes remain poor, and there is a need for accessible and affordable treatment strategies to improve survival. Preclinical data suggest that zoledronic acid, a nitrogen-containing bisphosphonate, may exert antitumor effects through apoptosis induction and immune modulation in glioma models. Given its established safety profile and clinical availability, the addition of zoledronic acid to standard adjuvant therapy may represent a practical therapeutic approach for patients with glioblastoma.
