Kopsavilkums
The article is devoted to the development of archaeological research in the present-day city of Tukums, which began as early as the 1930s. For almost a hundred years, archaeological research has been carried out in the modern territory of the city of Tukums on an area of 1750 m2. Excavations and supervision work have taken place in the historical centre or the territory of the medieval habitation, outside its borders and on the periphery of the city. Research in Tukums has been carried out in archaeological sites of various periods and types: a cemetery of the 11th–12th centuries, hillfort and its settlement of the 12th–13th centuries, a medieval castle and town site, a cemetery of the 14th–18th centuries, as well as a built-up area of the 17th–20th centuries.
