Kopsavilkums
A review of recent theoretical and experimental studies of bi-polaronic excitons, charge transfer vibronic excitons (CTVEs), in ionic-covalent solids is presented. CTVEs are electronic polaron - hole polaron pairs or triads, strongly interacting with the lattice and displaying a good defined, strong electric dipole moment under conditions of cross-relaxation reorientation. New type states (CTVE-phase), new type phenomena (CTVE-induced ferroelectric phase transition), and possible applications (tuneable CTVE-laser effect and CTVE-induced photorefraction) are discussed. KTaO3 and KNbO 3 systems are considered.
