Kopsavilkums

The problem of creating new alloys including metals with a wide range of stratification is at present one of the most topical problems in the technology of producing metals with valuable practical properties. The metals forming this alloy possess a very limited miscibility in the liquid state and are completely immiscible in the solid state. The technology of their preparation is based on methods which almost exclusively employ very high cooling rates, such as ingotless rolling, the pressing of granules poured into water, etc. The present investigation was aimed at testing experimentally the possibility of obtaining homogeneous structures. A melt of two immiscible metals - zinc and lead - containing from 5 to 75% lead was used in the tests. The choice of metals was connected with the difference in their mechanical properties, which allows the macro-structure of the ingot to be detected easily and with the relatively low melting temperature which allowed the experiments to be carried out easily.
