N2 - Nowadays, monitoring has become an integral part of optimizing many processes. The field of sports is no exception, and many individuals now use devices such as smartwatches to enhance their training. This convenient approach allows for tracking progress, optimizing workout intensity, and timely identification of health issues. One potentially valuable monitoring parameter is respiration rate during exercise. This metric can reflect the body's response to varying levels of stress and serve as an indicator to prevent overexertion. Many smartwatch manufacturers currently include such measurements; however, during exercise, even well-known brands may experience inaccuracies or lack this feature entirely due to the challenges of measurement in noisy environments. In this work, proposed an alternative method for measuring respiration rate by utilizing a microphone positioned near the respiratory pathways. Our device is based on the ESP32 microcontroller and MQTT protocol, enabling real-time monitoring and interaction with other devices. To ensure accurate respiration rate measurement and sound information, were developed a mathematical data processing method. Subsequently, a series of experiments was conducted to test and validate the prototype. The results indicate that under certain conditions, the accuracy of the proposed method can exceed 90%.
