Kopsavilkums
In this study, we present the synthesis and characterization of novel bi-enzymatic, magnetic-core nanocatalyst, working as a carbohydrate dehydrogenase using oxygen as a final electron acceptor. This nanocatalyst has a particularly useful feature – the nanostructures can be magnetically precipitated and again re-suspended in the batch-type bioreactor setups. Although the specific activity of immobilized enzymes inevitably decreases after synthesis, the elimination of redox mediators from the system and possibility for enzyme layer regeneration make this approach a valuable option in industrial catalytic applications.
