Kopsavilkums
In this article, the author focuses on aspects of participatory and collaborative authorship in performative arts. By analyzing the shift of emphasis in artistic practices historically, it is possible to detect a transfer from object-based art in traditional disciplines to process-and event-based art. In the second half of the 20th century, from the perspective of methodology and discourse analysis, the so-called performative and social turns emerged, thus introducing an increasingly strong social dimension in both arts and research. This poses a series of aesthetic, ethical, communicative, and economic challenges. As a case study, the author examines the activities of informal artist groups in Latvia in the 1970–80s, focusing on the specific sociopolitical context and cultural policy at the time.
