Kopsavilkums
The chapter aims to examine the ways in which the linguistic landscape (LL) is involved in language conflicts in transitioning multilingual contexts. Focus is given to independent states that have emerged after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia. Drawing on the European tradition of language conflict research (Darquennes 2015; Wingender 2021), the chapter discusses three ways in which the LL can play a role in language conflict - as its object, tool, and outcome - in the chosen European polities.
