Orthodoxy in the Northern Courland: Dundaga Parish (1918–1936)

The article reflects the life in Dundaga St. Constantine and Elena Orthodox congregation from 1918 to 1936. Major challenges of this small congregation were a long-standing unresolved real estate ownership case and numerous litigations associated with it, as well as problems of finding a priest who would reside permanently in Dundaga. The study is based on a large number of archival sources – mostly, the papers of the Latvian Orthodox Church, and continues a series of publications on the Orthodox congregations and their priests in the Northern Courland between 1918 and 1945.
