The fundamentals of the theory of a new kinetic phenomenon, the thermopolarization effect (TPE) in dielectrics, are considered. The presence of two contributions (thermodynamic and kinetic) to TPE is shown. The results of experimental investigations of TPE in ferroelectrics are given.
